​In tribute to our late Queen Elizabeth II, I was inspired to create a modest green crown in Finings Wood adjacent to the main footpath from acorns, twigs and oak leaves amongst other natural gems found in the woods. Feel free to contribute to it, reset or renew, as weather, wind, curiosity, creatures, footfall and decay will no doubt reshape it, whether its life be short or long.

It did not escape my notice these sad days of mourning that there were oak leaves in the floral wreath on the Queens coffin and later as she left Westminster Hall, a spider was seen on the renewed pink floral wreath of her final journey to Windsor.

I am sure this foliage detail complete with an additional acorn or two reflecting the time of year would have been requested during the early planning stages, maybe by HRH herself, and the now very famous spider with its lightest touch of natural spontaneity bought an unexpected welcome smile, amongst all the tears.
