​It is exactly a year, since this Facebook group was created and we are delighted to have the support and interest of over 300 members and hope you will share our posts to friends and family who may be interested to join as well.
Our Green Man, of Finings Wood, was last seen at the Lane End village Horticultural show. Created entirely of moss, leaves, ferns, berries, cones and feathers, all found in the wood by Pauline Thomas.
He was on the stand display, drawing attention to the fundraising required to purchase the woods and the maps of Finings Wood, its close location to the heart of the village and pictures of different areas of Lane End.

The Finings Wood Group is at the Horticultural Show this Saturday.

One of the most important events at Lane End Village Hall is the Horticultural Society`s annual show, in it`s 131st year. The experts will know the actual date of the very first show, which must`ve been during the last decade of the 19th Century. Quite a record for our little village so don`t miss out on this authentic and traditional event.

It is not too late to peruse the schedule www.ledhs.co.uk and check what to exhibit, closing time for entries is this Thursday evening. Schedules can also be picked up at local businesses and shops.
Come along this Saturday morning 6th August with your pre booked exhibits or simply visit at 2pm to admire the quality and range of produce that is not only grown, but created, cooked, baked, fired, sewn and knitted, many for auction later. Refreshments available.

The Finings Wood team will be there to answer questions about the current position and what the steering group have been up to recently to secure the future of this large area of Ancient Woodland so close to the village centre. Come over and have a chat with us.
