Here is a satellite view of the whole of Finings Wood including The Long Copse, a total of approximately 60 acres. It shows the close proximity of the NE corner of Finings Wood to the centre of Lane End village. To buy all or just part of Finings Wood will be a big decision to make but after many letters sent independently of Lane End Parish Council over the last 2 years, the owner has just offered to sell it to the LEPC should they vote to support this proposal with the assistance of The Friends of Finings Wood. This offer cannot last forever and we are concerned that in future Finings Wood will be split up into small privately owned fenced plots, not the best outcome for Finings Wood or for Lane End. These are some of the reasons and ideas that have been suggested so far, please add your own ideas by commenting. Community Woodland for Lane End to nurture and enjoy. Hi, my parents Ken and Barbara Edwards live in Lane End and I grew up there. Although my family and I now live overseas we remain very much rooted in the UK and would like to give assistance to the Finings wood project. Please contact me via email, I look forward to hearing from you, Sian Mikkelsen.
